CHASE'S STORY
A few words come to mind when describing Chase Mitchell. Seasoned, smooth and sultry are immediate choices. Unexpected lyrics and soulful hip-pop tracks will have you uncontrollably moving in your skin! An unlikely combination ...yes! Especially since this artist is still technically a teenager.
At age 9, Chase was cast as part of a music trio. It was this experience that unleashed his passion to perform that had been part of Chase's DNA since birth. The band consisted of two other young men, both much older than Chase. The eldest member of the group provided a nice "older-brother" role to Chase and was the bands back bone ... but it was Chase on lead vocals that always carried the stage. The musical chemistry between Chase and this former band mate would materialize again but in 2003 the group disbanded to explore their own interests.
As a solo-artist, Chase further pursued his musical interest. With a move to Nashville, Chase began immersing himself in writing circles and country music scene. Chase was growing as an artist and on his way to finding his true musical self. While in Tennessee, Chase recorded one album with Nashville producer Biff Watson. While some of these cuts had great success on Internet radio and inspired crowds, Chase felt he was still searching for his own sound.
Chase was then afforded the opportunity to travel and work in LA. During this time Chase took another musical leap forward while getting back to some of his true musical influences such as Michael Jackson, Hall & Oats, Justin Timberlake, and Robin Thicke. "In LA," Chase says "I started to develop a sound with what was more in line with what I had always envisioned in my head." After LA, Chase returned to his roots back in Georgia and began reflecting on a decade of sounds and experiences.
Then in 2009 Chase partnered with Creality Productions and re-connected with his former band mate and "big-brother" influence, Tim Brantley. Tim and Chase began a new journey and started co-producing some of the new songs Chase had transcribed in a quest to make an album that is uniquely Chase. Then we were all blown away when, after hearing a few tracks, Jon Kaplan agreed to mix the project for us. Now as Chase reflects on his new album he states "Tim, Jon, and I have completely captured the sound that I was striving for" "This process has been a labor of love" states Chase and "even though it took almost a year of my life it was worth every second." Chase feels fortunate to have been afforded the artistic freedom most artists' dream of when recording his most recent album. According to Chase, Every artist needs a muse, and I think mine comes from my lyrics ... just as every artist has a vision in their mind of what they are trying to create. "I feel really good about how this project turned out, but I am just hitting my stride and I look forward to continuing to grow with my music." states Chase with a grin.
While his youthful musical influences subtly come through ...this music screams Chase has arrived! The seasoned, mature vocal tones & retro sound will take you back and grab your attention! Kaplan described the record as straight up main stream hits; while Doc Holliday describes Chase as one of the best natural talents he has ever worked with!
Now at the ripe old age of 19, Chase has over 200 tour dates already under his belt and close to 100 recordings in his growing portfolio. Chase's opening credits already includes artists such as Taylor Swift, Jason Aldean, OutKast, Lil Zane. He has also played side stages with majors such as Rascal Flatts, Keith Urban ...and many others. Chase is a seasoned artist whose appeal spans many age groups and breaks demographic barriers as a true five tool crossover performer!
